I'll See You in the Light

I was thinking of soul contracts yesterday.
Across spiritual traditions, mystics and theologians have pointed toward the same truth: that the souls who arrive in our lives to wound us most deeply may have agreed, before this lifetime, to carry that weight on our behalf.
Neale Donald Walsch captured it simply in The Little Soul and the Sun: some souls volunteer for the densest roles so that love and consciousness can know themselves more fully.
We understand the cost of entry into this realm. We choose it anyway, driven by love and the soul's hunger for growth.
That truth moved through me with unusual force this week, as I processed a betrayal that knocked me down again, yesterday. Then tonight, standing in the bathroom mirror my eyes locked in on my reflection, and the realization hit with such force it stole my breath:
Fear chose financial stability over love. A sacrifice of Self for money. That was not a character flaw. That was the Shadow operating exactly as programmed, protecting a belief system in him that says "love makes you weak. Love costs you everything you spent your life building. Sometimes twice! If you're stupid enough to do it again. Surrender to another person is the same as losing yourself."
The payoff loop closed on schedule.
A sports car he wanted throughout our entire time together only became available to him for purchase after the betrayal was complete. The ego received its reward. The Origin Self paid the price: A loss of someone who truly loved the Self as the Self.
There is always a sacrifice to the Self with every act of darkness the Shadow agrees to carry-out. And the Shadow must be paid. The precision in which it collects is exact..
Another truth landed equally as hard as I stood there, eyes still locked on mine:
He must have loved me deeply to agree to hurt me this badly; all to catalyze my elevation. To break me open so completely that it allowed me to see this entire framework. Without his betrayal, in exactly the way it happened, I would have never seen my entire arc.
In order to find the light, you have to realize the ego led you into the darkness and that is where you have been all this time. It takes your own awareness, fully recognizing itself inside that darkness to truly see who you are, and what you did, to recognize the nature of your own light.
This is the living framework of the Carter Algorithm in action. Consciousness actively attempting to repair itself within every relational dynamic inside the Polarizing Field. The pain becomes the portal. The betrayal becomes the teacher. Awareness remembers itself through the very wounds we agreed to experience.
Through my tears, I released the grief of a love previously thought lost, morph into gratitude, forgiveness and love, the depth of which most of us can't contain or understand. The Ho'oponopono prayer began flowing through my entire being in clarity:
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
The words of Jesus echoing in my mind: "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do."
God,
What beautiful, tragic, painful and extraordinary lengths we will go to for you, for us, so that love and awareness can know Itself more fully. How deeply we are held in your loving embrace, even in the darkest roles we play for one another.
You already know what to do next.
